Friends of Library pie social set Thursday

People have an opportunity to socialize and have some homemade pie Thursday at the annual Valentine’s Day Pie Social held by the Friends of the Library.

Havre-Hill County Library Director Rachel Rawn said the social runs from noon to 4 p.m. but people might want to be in by 3 p.m. or earlier to have a better look at the whole pies that are sold toward the end of the social.

“It’s really just a social thing,” Rawn said.

Some of the same people come to the social every year, but new people come each year, as well, to socialize and have some pie, she said.

“The pie is amazing,” she added — all are baked special for the event.

The pie costs $4 a slice with toppings like ice cream or whipped cream and coffee or juice included.

The social is one of the Friends of the Library’s main fundraisers. Friends use the money to help the library provide services like its summer reading program, winter reading season or to put on concerts, Rawn said.
