First charges filed in crime spree

Hill County Sheriff Jamie Ross said today that charges have been filed on a suspect in the recent crime spree that includes the burglary at the John Deere dealership and other thefts.

Kate Alanna Lambourne of Havre, 19, was arrested Jan. 31 after deputies responded to a suspicious activity report Jan. 31 at 11:29 a.m. of a woman on Bullhook Road walking around barefooted. She was initially being held on charges of theft, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Monday deputies added charges of criminal mischief, tampering with evidence and obstruction of a peace officer or other public servant. She was later charged with trespass to vehicle.

Lambourne was being held Hill County Detention Center this morning on bonds totaling $55,770.

Lambourne is the first suspect charged for the crimes in this string of cases; all other suspects’ theft or burglary charges are pending.

Ross said the investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected.
