Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Cameron Pleninger, Havre High Wrestling

The Havre Blue Ponies had a lot of success at last Saturday's Eastern A Divisional tournament in Miles City. But few mowed through the competition like HHS junior Cameron Pleninger. On his way to the 120-pound divisional championship, Pleninger won every single match by pin, including a fall over Sidney's Josh Darby in the championship match. Pleninger, a two-time state placer already, will now set his sights on this weekend's Class A state tournament in Billings. Pleninger also wrestles with his two younger brothers on this year's team.

Sarah Billmayer, Turner Girls Basketball

Sarah Billmayer has been playing varsity basketball for the Turner girls for a long time now. And her veteran presence showed up again this past weekend as she led Turner to District 9C wins over Hays-Lodge Pole, where she scored 22 points, and Chinook, where she poured in a game-high 16 points. Billmayer, a returning All 9C performer, who also competes in track and field, will now try and help the Tornadoes win another trophy at next week's 9C tourney in Havre. Billmayer helped the Tornadoes to a third-place finish at last year's 9C tourney.
