Sheep producers are encourage to select fleeces to enter in the wool fleece show that is held March 14 in conjunction with the Montana Seed Show in Harlem.
Judging for the fleece competition will begin at 1 p.m. at the Harlem High School auditorium. Entries will be taken between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that day. During judging, fleece judge Tyler Lane, Extension agent from Fort Benton, will answer any questions from spectators, so people are invited to come watch. The judge’s comments sheets will be attached to all fleeces entered in the show.
The competition will include youth and adult divisions with 21 categories in both divisions. Ribbons are awarded in all categories, and a $100 cash prize will be awarded to the winner in each division.
Information is available in the Montana Seed Show catalog or by contacting Sandra Miller at 357-4121. Fleeces may be mailed to Miller at 620 Miller Road, Harlem MT 59526. The fleeces will be returned, postage paid, after the seed show.
