Arrest made after pursuit this morning

One person was arrested and two people escaped law enforcement after a morning car pursuit that included Hill County and Havre.

At 7:47 this morning a deputy patrolling Bullhook Road noticed a vehicle that was reported stolen and attempted to have the driver pull over the vehicle, Hill County Undersheriff Stan Martin said this morning. The vehicle fled and the deputy pursued the vehicle.

Martin said that the pursuit, which did not last very long, entered city limits and ended on the 100 Block of 17th Avenue.

The vehicle contained three occupants who attempted to flee the scene on foot. One person was arrested, but two evaded capture. Martin said that the two suspects that evaded capture were wearing backpacks.

He added that at this time law enforcement has found no sign of illegal substances being involved, although the case is still under investigation.

The Havre Police Department assisted in the pursuit.

The name of the suspect in custody and the charges had not been released by print deadline this morning.
