Letter to the Editor - Thank you for judge application process

Dear Editor

I want to sincerely thank everyone who was a part of the city judge selection process. I worked very hard to prepare for the City Council meeting that was held on the evening of Tuesday January 22nd. I appreciate the support from the community, the media and our city leaders. I want to thank my challengers, Janie Hedstrom and Scott Guyant for their participation in the process. I also want to congratulate Janie Hedstrom on her success, and ultimately being the council’s choice.

As I said during the meeting, just being there was an amazing opportunity. I respect the decision of the council and I had a very nice time during the process. This is the first time I’ve put in for a position that is generally selected by the public. I learned a lot during my preparation for the process, and I likely will participate in an election in seasons to come.

I may not have gotten the position for city judge, but in many ways I feel my participation was a success. I spent a lot of time and effort in the days leading up to the interviews. After the results have come in, and all is said and done, I feel like all of that work was appreciated, well versed, and most of all, it’s out there for the community to see. My passion and dreams to be involved with my local criminal justice system will always be a part of who I am. My heart is set on making a difference, and this experience has only reinforced the love I have for our community and the people who call Havre home.

I will continue to pursue my dreams and I will continue to work hard to achieve them. Thanks again to everyone, and stay tuned.

Until then, take care, and stay safe Havre.

Sincerely,

Joshua T. Miller

Havre
