The Independence Bank Scholarship application deadline is quickly approaching.
Applications for the scholarship must be received in the Montana State University-Northern Financial Aid Office by Feb. 8. The Independence Bank Scholarship is open to incoming freshman students planning to attend Northern. To be eligible, students must graduate from a high school in Hill, Blaine, Phillips, Valley, Roosevelt, Daniels, Sheridan, Liberty, Chouteau, Pondera or Toole counties. Six $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year. For more information on the Independence Bank Scholarship people can contact a local IB branch or the Northern Financial Aid Office at 265-3787.
Six area students are the recipients of the Independence Bank New Student Scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year and are currently attending Northern.
Sablle Erickson graduated from Dutton/Brady High School and is majoring in elementary education and special education. Her parents are Mary and Dustin Erickson of Dutton.
Kayona Fraser graduated from CJI High School and is pursuing a major in elementary education. Her parents are Jada and Cory Fraser of Joplin.
Dylan Hendrickson graduated from Havre High School and is currently enrolled in general studies at Northern. His parents are Jennifer and Scott Hendrickson of Havre.
Hailey McMaster graduated from Chinook High School and is majoring in criminal justice. Her parents are Ronda Buckingham and Michael McMaster of Chinook.
T.J. Reynolds graduated from Shelby High School and is majoring in elementary education. His parents are Wendy and Tom Reynolds of Shelby.
Jada Sudbrack graduated from Saco High School. She is pursuing a major in nursing. Her parents are Elena and Dale Sudbrack of Saco.
