Jake Huston, Havre Boys Basketball

Jake Huston is playing his first season of varsity basketball for the Havre Blue Pony boys, but he’s looked awfully comfortable on the floor thus far. This past weekend, Huston, a junior at HHS, poured in 23 points in Havre’s tough loss to Livingston Friday night, then followed that up with 11 key points in the Blue Ponies’ clutch win over Belgrade Saturday in the HHS gymnasium. Huston, one of Havre’s top scorers, is also a standout doubles player for the Havre High tennis team in the spring.

Shayla Borlaug, North Star Girls Basketball

The North Star Knights are battling hard in the tough District 9C. And this past weekend, that was the case for North Star’s Shayla Borlaug. Borlaug poured in a game-high 24 points in a tough loss to Turner last Friday night, then came right back and scored 23 points in another tough defeat to top-ranked Box Elder. For the weekend, Borlaug averaged 23 points and four rebounds for the Knights. Borlaug was also a standout volleyball player for North Star this past fall.
