Monday — Transportation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuesday — Closed for Christmas holiday

Wednesday — Transportation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m; TOPS at 8 a.m.; mall shopping from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Thursday — Transportation from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday — Medical transportation will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. but people must make a request at least 24 hours in advance.

Jody Neely is giving a technology workshop Monday, Jan 7, at 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center. People can learn how to operate cellphones, computers, tablets and low-vision aids. Bring your devices with you. If you have any questions, you can call Jody at 301-4989.

The Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning that scammers are spoofing the Social Security Toll-Free number to call folks and request that they verify personal information to receive a benefits increase. Remember we do not ever give out our personal information over the phone. If you should receive such a call, you should hang up immediately and report it to SSA’s Office of Inspector General at 1-800-269-0271.

Is there someone special you are shopping for? Remember the Senior Centers Gift Shop. Find some up-to-the-minute gifts along with some fun antiques. Also we can provide “A Gift for You Certificate” for however many meals you want to present to your special someone. A two-week ticket is $40 and a month is $80. It comes with a printed holiday certificate. A punch ticket will be issued when the certificate is presented at our center.
