Date set for annual Holiday Hoops blue Pony alumni basketball

Havre Public Schools Education Foundation’s 14th Annual Holiday Hoops Blue Pony alumni basketball game will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at Havre High School gymnasium at 7 p.m. Admission to the game is a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Havre Food Bank to help replenish their shelves after the holidays.

In past years we have donated around 100 pounds of food each year, thank you to the community for your help.

All Havre High alumni are invited to participate, whether you played during your school years or not. To sign up to participate players may call Patch at 399-0619 or Grayson at 680-2323. Anyone not able to pre-register may show up at the gym Friday evening and get on a team. The game is co-ed because girls and guys both want to get in on the action. If enough girls show up to play there can be a separate girl’s game but participants often enjoy mixing it up. The evening is easy going and relaxing, just what is needed after the busy Christmas holiday. Alumni enjoy getting together for a “just for fun” game and friends, family and fans have a great time cheering on their favorite alum.

The concession stand will be open, manned by the Skills USA Club from Havre High, all proceeds will be donated to the club. Enjoy some snacks and support these young people. The Foundation Board of Directors is having a raffle. There will be a Blue Pony basket and a New Year’s Eve basket, tickets will only be sold for the raffle during the evening and a winner will be drawn at the end of the game. All proceeds will go toward the scholarship program. The HPSEF Board of Directors enjoy putting on this community event each year and hope many will join in the fun as a player or spectator.

The Directors would also like to remind everyone about our ongoing license plate fundraiser. When your vehicle registration is due take a look at the Blue Pony license plate.

It is a beautiful plate, helps to express blue pony pride, makes finding your vehicle in the parking lot a little easier and would make a unique Christmas gift. Thank you to all that have already purchased and renewed their blue pony plate twenty dollars of each plate purchased or renewed is donated to HPSEF to help with our goal of supporting Havre Public Schools educators and students with scholarship, small grant and special projects.

The Foundation is fortunate to be part of the Independence Bank School Spirit debit card program.

New or current accounts may request a blue pony debit card and with each transaction the bank will donate 5 cents to the Foundation. We are grateful to Independence Bank for this opportunity and thank all account holders that are using a blue pony debit card.
