Skylee Dirden, Harlem Girls Basketball
Harlem's Skylee Dirden wasted no time in getting her 2018-19 basketball season off to a scorching start. On Dec. 1, Dirden poured in 37 points as the Wildcats opened their season with a win over Cut Bank. Dirden, who was an All-Northern B performer a year ago, also scored 32 points in two games at last weekend's Native American Classic in Havre, helping the Wildcats go 1-1 in the event. Dirden poured in 20 points in a loss to Box Elder last Friday.
Mick Chagnon, Havre High Wrestling
Havre High's Mick Chagnon is now in his second year of wrestling for the prestigious Havre Blue Ponies. And he’s making big contributions for the Blue Ponies and new head coach Beau LaSalle. Chagnon went undefeated on his way to winning the 103-pound championship at the Havre Invitational Dec. 1, then followed that up by going unbeaten last Friday at the Mining City Duals. Chagnon, who also plays tennis for HHS, finished fifth at 103 in Class A as a freshman.
