Dinosaur Christmas was a success, members of the H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum Board said during their meeting Monday night at Havre Inn and Suites.
Museum Director Emily Mayer said about 255 people visited the museum that day.
“It certainly boosted our visitation numbers, which was wonderful, because they spent a lot of time in the museum. It wasn’t just kids running in and out all the time,” Mayer said. “They came through and they looked at the dinosaurs and they went back and rang the bell and came over and looked at the war memorabilia. They spent time there which I thought was really good.”
Board member Judy Dritshulas added that she believed kids’ interest in dinosaurs comes in waves.
Dirtshulas said cookies and Santa-themed arts and crafts were offered at the museum. The kids also made dinosaur gingerbread houses.
H. Earl and Margaret Turner Clack Memorial Museum Foundation Chair Elain Morse said she picked up some dinosaur hats and brought them in for the kids that day, as well. The hats were passed out by Camille Keeley who was the “dinosaur in costume” that day, Dirtshulas said.
“They were cute,” Dirtshulas added. “Everybody loved them.”
The board did not take any actions during its meeting because a quorum of board members was not present.
