News you can use

Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

Terminal

You know, Lord, the word “terminal” sometimes causes a bit of a shock when we think about our own life — not that any of us really ever figured that we were going to live down here on earth forever. An interesting article had a graph of weeks for us homo sapiens which generously allowed us the total number of weeks of our life on earth should we be granted the 85 years of life that we might live, should You tarry, Lord.

If 18, we only have 3,484 weeks.

If 28, we only have 2,964 weeks.

If 38, we only have 2,444 weeks.

If 48, we only have 1,924 weeks.

If 58, we only have 1,404 weeks.

If 68, we only have 884 weeks.

If 78, we only have 364 weeks.

Perchance we’re older; it doesn’t take much to figure out about how many weeks are allotted to us, according to the life-expectancy report.

When looking at the “whole” picture, life really is terribly short — we could die today! Or even tomorrow! Someone stated: “Yesterday is in the tomb of time, tomorrow is in the womb of time. Today is actually all that we have.”

As Your children, Lord God, we are to win others to You before it is forever too late. We must use all our resources to influence and convince the lost.

We can prevail upon approximately 200 people, counting all we know or are related to. Lord, are we accountable to You for influencing our 200 folks to trust in You as Lord and Savior? Forgive us, Lord, but it looks like we’ve fallen short.

Loving Lord, thank You for the grace You give us to obey You, and the peace You give us as we stay near as we read in Galatians 5:25: “Since we live by the spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

Love, Mara
