Former Havre Blue Pony standout Dane Warp had a weekend to remember for the Carroll College Fighting Saints men's basketball team.
And for his efforts, Warp was named the Frontier Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It was Warp's first Player of the Week honor.
The 6-4 junior from Havre High came within three points of setting Carroll's single-game scoring record last Friday in Carroll's record-setting 151-72 win over Salish Kootenai College. Warp recorded a triple-double, scoring 45 points while adding 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the win. The 45 points was a career-high for Warp.
The following night, Warp scored 28 points in a win over Northwest College, giving him an average of 39 points in Carroll's two home games. He also made a total of nine 3-pointers over the weekend and shot 66 percent from the field.
Warp now leads the Frontier Conference in scoring at 21 ppg. Montana State University-Northern's Justin Dunsmore was also nominated for the award.
Carroll's Hannah Dean was named Frontier Women's Player of the Week. Northern's Peyton Kehr was also nominated.
Frontier Conference play begins this weekend around the league.
