Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks announced Monday that its Region 6 Citizen Advisory Council will meet in Havre for a special legislative meeting.
The Region 6 CAC will meet from 12:45-5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the conference room of Havre Inn and Suites on the Boot Hill Plaza.
The next legislative session follows some tumultuous happenings in the state including invasive mussels being discovered in Tiber Reservoir in 2016 and chronic wasting disease discovered for the first time in Montana wildlife — including in Liberty County — in 2017 and more confirmed cases including in Blaine and Liberty counties this year.
The Dec. 11 meeting is open to the public, and state senators and representatives in the region have been invited.
Both Helena and Region 6 FWP staff will be at the meeting to present material and answer questions.
The main purpose of this meeting is for the department to share with legislators and CAC members the legislative proposals that involve FWP and to answer any questions on these or other related topics.
Introductions will start at 12:45 p.m., followed by a legislative presentation and an “open session” for questions and discussions.
Each of FWP’s seven administrative regions has a volunteer CAC to help guide policies and programs. The Region 6 group meets three times a year.
FWP ensures that its meetings are fully accessible to persons with disabilities. To request special accommodations for this meeting, please contact 406-228-3700.
