Big Sandy’s Christmas Stroll will be taking over the town Saturday, Dec. 1, one of the event organizers, Tina Cook, said.
The day, organized by the Chouteau County Community Service Improvement group, will start with Breakfast with Santa at 8 a.m. at the Mint Bar and Cafe on Johannes Avenue. For $5 the kids will get breakfast with Santa Claus, a small toy and a chance to win a Christmas stocking.
Along with businesses being open for holiday shopping a craft show and sale will be set up in two locations — city hall and the Big Sandy Museum — from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will be holding an open house at that time, as well, Cook said.
Booths are available to rent until Saturday morning for anyone wanting to sell craft items.
As the craft show shuts down a raffle drawing will be held for gift certificate for $1,000 at Valley Furniture.
The day’s activities will culminate with the Parade of Lights through downtown.
“This day just gets the community out and involved and in the Christmas spirit,” Cook said.
