ND man killed when truck rolls on highway between Box Elder and Gildford

Montana Highway Patrol has reported that a man died Wednesday when his 2004 Kenworth truck and trailer rolled on Montana Secondary Highway 488 outside of Box Elder.

The Patrol said the crash was reported at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday. The driver, a 40-year-old Williston, North Dakota man, was declared dead on the scene.

The name of the man has not been released pending notification of relatives.

Highway Patrol reports the man was traveling northbound near mile marker 21 when the truck left the roadway to the west.

The driver attempted to correct, causing the vehicle to roll. It rolled one-half turn and came to rest on its top.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol, drugs and speed are not suspected to be a factor in the crash. The roads were bare and dry.
