Obituary - Donnarae Marie White Minnick

Donnarae Marie White Minnick passed away October 24, 2018, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Donna was born in Havre on January 29, 1929, to Herb A White and Alta (Stevens) White. She was raised on the family farm in Inverness, just below the cemetery. She quit school in 1944 at age 15 to stay home and help care for her seven siblings when their mother passed away.

Donna moved to Havre in 1951 and went to work at the Shanty Bar. She worked there for 20 years and then went to work at the Duck Inn. She worked at the Duck Inn for 40 years, until she retired due to health issues when she was 84 years old. She loved working at the Duck Inn. Management, employees and customers were her family and friends. She never forgot a face, or a name, or an order.

Her Duck Inn family remained in her heart and were all missed when she could no longer work. She was thankful for the years she was able to serve her public at the Duck Inn.

She was an avid Cubs fan and being able to see them win the World Series was the delight of her life. The Dodgers were her team, also, as well as the Warriors. She never missed a game.

Mom was a gift, a blessing and an inspiration to her six children. Even as adults, she was an example, a security, and a rock to all of us.

Mom was deeply loved by all of us and will be greatly missed. We thank the Lord for the years she was granted to be our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Now she sits at the feet of Jesus at peace and in love with her creator.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother Iris White; brothers Jerry, David, and Joseph; and her sisters Cecilia and Audrey

Donna is survived by her brothers Herb, Jim, Carl and Eddie; sisters Rose, Leona, and Mary; her daughter, Linda Howerton; sons, Mike (Linda), Mark, Randy (Stephanie), Greg (Mikell) and Danny; grandchildren, Rick (Tami) Carlson, Jody (Scott) Campbell, Wes (Corina) Carlson, Brandy (Spencer) Barger, Aaron Minnick, Scott Minnick, Deanna (Andy) Minnick, Chad (Tia) Minnick, Carissa (Tim) Minnick; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many friends.

A family graveside service was held on October 27, 2018, in Inverness. There will be a celebration of her life for family and all her Duck Inn family of friends in the spring of 2019. Please visit Donna's online memorial page at http://www.hollandbonine.com to leave a message of condolence for her family.

We love you Mom and we will miss you.
