Montana Actors’ Theatre is continuing its tradition of putting on a pantomime for the Christmas holiday season and is inviting people to audition Sunday and Monday for its 2018 production of “Peter Pan.”
A modern panto, or pantomime, considered a British creation, takes a well-known story, often a fable or children’s story, and puts it on the stage with dancing, singing, jokes and other twists on the original story.
The staging of pantos is a Christmas tradition in England.
Auditions for “Peter Pan” will be held at Montana State University-Northern in Cowan Hall in Room 107 at 7 p.m.
People ages 12 and older are invited to audition, with minimum of 14 roles for youth and adults to be cast. Speaking and non-speaking roles are available, and no experience is necessary.
“Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook and many more will be present in this lighthearted tale, based on the book by J.M. Barrie,” a release from MAT said. “Show dates are Dec. 7-8, 14-16, 21-23.”
