Samantha Oliver, Havre High Volleyball

Havre High junior Samantha Oliver has been a steady force on the volleyball court all season long. But in one of Havre’s biggest wins of the season, Oliver was more than steady. Havre swept Lewistown Saturday night in the HHS gymnasium, and Oliver, the Ponies’ setter, was all over the floor. She tallied nine kills, 14 digs, 12 assists and four aces in the huge HHS win. Oliver also paced the Ponies in assists in a tight loss to Great Falls High last Thursday. Oliver is also an All-Conference softball player at Havre High.

Garrett Diekhans, Fort Benton Football

The Fort Benton Longhorns were in need of a big win Friday night, and they got it in Cascade. And a big reason why was junior quarterback Garrett Diekhans. In the win over the Badgers, Diekhans rushed for 124 yards and two first-half touchdowns. For the game, Diekhans ran for over 200 yards and passed for 112 yards and two more touchdowns. Diekhans is also an All-Conference basketball player and track and field standout for Fort Benton
