Teddy was born on April 30, 1928, in Rocky Boy to Theodore and Ursula (Ladue) Russette. He was raised in Rocky Boy, attending school there. In 1946, Teddy joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, and served until his honorable discharge in 1948. He returned home to Rocky Boy, where he married Alice Meyers in 1951, and the couple had seven children. Teddy worked as a rancher most of his life, and possessed a variety of skills, which he put to use as a rancher and in other aspects of his life.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and pretty much anything that involved the outdoors, along with watching Westerns. His time at the casino was fun; but he loved playing cards and house parties with his family. Hot fires, coffee and sweets made from coconut and caramel were his favorites. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life, and he loved to tease them.
Teddy was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Russette; three grandchildren, Athena, B.J., and Crystal Russette; parents, Theodore and Ursula Russette; and sisters, Darlene Berger and Rita Saddler.
He is survived by his daughters, Denise Crow, Juanita DeCora, Mona (Steve) Galbavy, Ursula (Maynard Limberhand) Russette, and Tashina Russette, all of Rocky Boy; sons Theodore (Carol) Russette, Gilbert (Darcy) Russette, David (Mary) Russette, and Spencer Russette, all of Rocky Boy; 35 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul "Buddy" Russette Sr. of Havre; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
