Cliff was born on July 28, 1948, in Great Falls, MT, to Paul and Hazel (Coster) Jacobsen, Jr. He was raised in Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School in 1966. He went on to attend Northern Montana College for nearly four years, and only a quarter shy of his degree in drafting, he went to work for Triangle Telephone/Hill County Electric. He remained there until his retirement in 2011. In 1968, Cliff married Vickie Manuel in Fairfield, and the couple lived in Seattle and Great Falls until 1977, when they moved to Havre. They remained in Havre where they raised their two daughters and where Cliff was active in the community.
Cliff enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading and NASCAR. He was active in politics and First Lutheran Church, and simply adored his grandchildren. Over the years, he served on the Havre City Council and as an election volunteer. One of his favorite pastimes was entertaining his family and friends with stories. Cliff was an avid Boston Red Socks fan, remaining certain that this year was the year they would win the World Series; and he spent many Sunday afternoons cheering on his New England Patriots.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Jacobsen and Hazel Bremer, and father-in-law, Rex Manuel.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vickie Jacobsen of Havre; daughters Christine (Randy) Bachmeier of Havre and Lynn (Aaron) Holsinger of Bozeman; grandchildren Brendan, Jacob, Desiree, Madison, Sarah and Shaeleigh Bachmeier, and Jonah, Gretchen, and Jackson Fiedler; brother Doug (Mary) Jacobsen of Stockton, CA; sisters Joanne (Dennis) Berczyk of Great Falls and Paulette Stott of Choteau; his mother-in-law, Jeannine Manuel of Fairfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
