Ethel Mae Chappell of Great Falls, 74, went home to be with her Savior on September 19, 2018.
The memorial service will take place at Temple Baptist Church on September 29, 2018 with Pastor Todd Sasek officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Montana State Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison in Helena.
Ethel was born to Merle and Eva Baughman on June 15, 1944 in Oskaloosa, IA. Most of her early years were spent growing up on a farm near Sigourney, IA. Ethel received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. After high school graduation she moved to Omaha, NE, where she attended Omaha Baptist Bible College, now called Faith Baptist Bible College, Ankeny, IA.
On November 12, 1966 she married Jim Chappell. They spent several years in the U.S. Air Force until Jim retired on April 1, 1983. They were blessed with three children, sons Victor and Vincent and daughter Christina. They have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by her husband, James Chappell Jr. of Great Falls; son Vincent Chappell of Seeley Lake; daughter Christina (Jesse) Green of Kalispell; brother John (Jean) Baughman of Pierceton, IN; sister Mary (Ben) Diment of Sigourney, IA.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, son Victor; sisters Arlene and Esther; and brother Paul.
