Lourice Fay (McHoes) Rutters was born on May 8, 1961, in Havre, MT, to Mae and Leslie McHoes. She died on September 14, 2018, of heart failure.
Lourice attended school in Havre and had many friends while growing up. She lived and raised show horses in Sheridan, WY. While living there, she also managed a shoe store. Later, she moved to Livingston, MT, with her brother Tom. There, she managed a Taco John's and a KFC store and worked at the family's motel for several years.
While there, she met Dale Rutters. They got married in Washington and lived there for several years. Later, they moved to Roundup, MT, and raised mules together. Dale passed in 2014 and Lourice moved home to Havre.
Lourice had heart problems for many years and underwent two surgeries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Elmer, twins John and Don, and Davey, and one sister, Donna.
She is survived her sisters Kim Knudsen of Plains, Gertrude "Snooks" Clark of Havre and Isabelle "Liz" Borst of Great Falls and brothers Curtis Henriksen of Cut Bank and Tom Henriksen of Livingston, as well as many, many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Havre on Friday, September 28, at 2 p.m. After the service, join us for a gathering and a time of sharing and refreshments at First Lutheran Church, 303 Sixth Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
