Spencer Richter, CJI Football
The Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks got a statement win last Friday night when they beat the Belt Huskies 68-20. And with that much offense, it’s no surprise that quarterback Spencer Richter had a big game. Richter passed and rushed for over 200 yards each against the Huskies, and accounted for three touchdowns. He threw a TD pass to Jackson Diemert and scored on runs of 15 and 32 yards. The CJI sophomore is also a basketball standout for the Hawks.
Jaylyn Cline, Big Sandy Volleyball
The Big Sandy Pioneers have had their ups and downs in volleyball, but senior Jaylyn Cline is certainly having a steady season. Last week, Cline tallied 10 kills and two blocks in a win over Chester-Joplin-Inverness, and she also had a match-high 11 kills to go with three blocks and an ace in a loss to the North Star Knights. Cline is a three-year starter for the Pioneers, and she also shines on the basketball court for Big Sandy in the winter.
