News you can use
Dear Editor,
I would like to clear up a misconception regarding the nonprofit Blessed to Bless NOW. As the name implies, Blessed to Bless NOW is about people who feel blessed, or grateful, who want to bless others and get a tax-deduction/write-off at the same time.
Because of a matching fund offer of $2,500 from out-of-state, we will have a fundraiser dinner Saturday, Sept. 29, at the HRDC Fireside Room. The purpose of Blessed to Bless NOW is a way to express gratitude by giving to working neighbors who have been hit with a situation beyond their control.
Grateful people give. We have received monetary donations from a variety of people, such as a retired rancher in Valley County and a working rancher in Blaine County. A trucker driver in North Dakota, a banker in Seattle, a photographer in Phillips County, a mechanic in Fargo, a military veteran in Billings, a business owner in Chinook, and a handicapped housewife in Boise have all donated to Blessed to Bless NOW. But we are still a long way from our $2,500 goal.
Grateful people receive. We have gotten requests for grants for local working people in need that we plan to accommodate after the fundraiser.
We are still accepting donations and gifts for the auctions. But only from people or businesses who feel blessed, grateful and who want to give. Several individuals and Havre businesses have already given generously. We will also have a raffle board for a Rugar American 308 rifle for those who cannot attend the dinner and still wish to help with the fundraiser.
I will have a table at Havre Festival Days downtown near Flynn Realty Saturday, Sept. 23 with some of the auction items and the rifle raffle board on display. I will have dinner tickets for sale then as well. Businesses who partner with us also sell dinner tickets: Hank Tweeten Auto Body, Builders Firstchoice, Boyce & Berry Flowers, and Spud’s Grub Hut. I am the only one who will have rifle raffle board tickets.
We will happily, gratefully, come to you to pick up items donated for the auctions or for door prizes. Call me at 406-438-2416.
To be clear: No more soliciting. Only grateful, blessed, people and businesses giving in order to bless others.
Sincerely,
BilliJo Doll
