Havre Police Department

A First Street caller Monday at 8:14 a.m. reported a break-in.

A caller on Ninth Street asked Monday at 9:30 a.m. to speak with an officer about some juveniles.

An 11th Street caller at 2:02 p.m. Monday reported a burglary.

--

A caller on Seventh Avenue near Pepin Park reported a tall man chasing a girl or young woman Monday at 6:54 p.m.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Marvin Lee Cure of Box Elder, 40, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant at Hill County Detention Center Monday at 1:04 p.m.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle, noninjury vehicle crash west of Havre at 3:47 p.m. before turning the scene over to another agency.

A caller in Beaver Creek Park reported Monday at 8:51 p.m. a vehicle struck a calf, but no injuries were reported.

A caller on U.S. Highway 2 East reported at 8:54 p.m. that a man who had been helping her with her race bike took it out on the highway, but she could not locate him.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to eight calls Monday and two calls this morning, including a call to Box Elder.

Firefighters responded Monday at 10:40 p.m. to a report of a gas smell at a single family residence on the 1600 Block of Maple Drive. A gas leak was found and firefighters stayed on scene until NorthWestern Energy workers got the gas turned off. Valves will have to be repaired or replaced.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the shelter held six medium-hair kittens and one short-hair cat with gender listed as unknown, one long-hair female cat and one medium-hair female cat.

The shelter also held this morning a 1-year-7-month-old male German shepherd, a 1-year-old male German shepherd-Labrador retriever cross, a 2-year-2-month-old female pit bull terrier-German shepherd cross, a 2-year-1-month-old male Pekingese-dachshund cross, a 7-month-old female mixed breed and a 1-year-10-month-old female Australian cattle dog-blue heeler-German shepherd cross. The shelter also listed four 14-week-old Rottweiler-shepherd cross puppies.

Births

A boy was born Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, to Michelle St. Pierre and John Birdtail of Harlem.

A boy was born Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, to Janet and Jacob Waldner of Havre.

A boy was born Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, to Naomi and Steven Castillo of Havre.
