The Public Health Department has changed the date for our Annual Flu Shot Clinic. It was to be held on Sept. 11, but now will be on Sep.t 25. The shots will be given from 11:am thru 1:pm. Stop down have lunch with us and get your annual flu shot.

Our director of almost 50 years, Evelyn Havskjold, has moved on to other adventures traveling with her husband, Duane. The many things she has done for the community working at the Senior Center are greatly appreciated and will be missed. Everyone involved with the Hill County Senior Center wishes her safe travels and wonderful adventures as she begins this new phase of her life. We have a basket at the center for individuals to put cards in for those who want to wish her well or thank her for her years of service. These cards are being delivered on a regular basis.

Don Kenny, the new director of the Hill County Council on Aging has some very big shoes to fill. We all wish him well as he starts out on this venture. It is hoped everyone demonstrates the same support for him they bestowed on Evelyn as he is starting out on the task of maintaining the high standards set by his predecessor.

It’s time once again to start thinking about attending the Governor’s Conference on Aging. Rock your age. It will be held at the Radisson Colonial Hotel in Helena Sept. 25-27. If you are interested in attending, you can pick up a registration form at Senior Center. There is also information on our keynote speakers, conference themes and Governor’s Centenarian Banquet.

What should you do if someone calls and asks for your information, for money, or threatens to cancel your health benefits if you don’t share your personal information? Hang up! It’s a scam. Scam artists may try to steal your personal information by calling you and asking for your current Medicare Number to get your new Medicare card.

Enjoy our summer weather while we have it. Hope to see you at the center this week.
