Havre Elks hosting soccer shoot Sept. 11

Havre Elks Lodge #1201 is hosting a free soccer shoot for area youth up to 14 years of age Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the soccer fields next to Havre High School.

Registration is at 4:30 p.m. with shooting starting at 5 p.m.

“Our lodge is proud to host this event again this year,” said Kyle Leeds, Havre Elks Lodge #1201 exalted ruler and soccer shoot co-chairman. “We know soccer is a growing sport in our region, and our partner in this event, the Havre Youth Soccer Association, has close to 600 children participating in soccer this season.

“The Havre Elks Lodge greatly appreciates the assistance of the Havre Youth Soccer Association in making this great community event a success,” Leeds added.

The Elks soccer shoot is open to area youth up to age 14 from the communities of Hays, Lodge Pole, Turner, Harlem, Chinook, Havre, Rudyard, Hingham, Kremlin, Gildford,, Rocky Boy, Box Elder, and Big Sandy. The competition has a goal shooting event and a target shooting event and which event the youth compete in depends on their age group.

“Havre Elks Lodge #1201 is the only lodge in the entire state of Montana to host a soccer shoot,” Leeds said. “We take pride in being able to offer a fun, free, and safe recreational event for all area youth to participate in. It should be a great last summer night, and we look forward to seeing all area youth at this fantastic family friendly event starting with registration at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11th.”
