HHS golf thrives at East Glacier

Pony boys, Teagan Fee claim top honors at Browning Invite

For the third time in a week, the Havre High boys and girls golf teams were on the course for a tough, varsity tournament. Saturday, the Blue Ponies were in East Glacier for the 2018 Browning Invitational, and they had a good 18 holes, no doubt.

The Havre boys finished in first place at the Browning Invite with a team score of 369. Two Ponies also posted Top-5 finishes, led by Caleb Chambliss’ 84. Chambliss finished in third place, while Nolan Lotton shot 87 to place fourth. Josh Warp shot 98 for the Ponies, while Eli Cloninger shot 100 and Tyrel Kjersem finished with a 106.

Saturday was also a good day for Pony senior Teagan Fee. Fresh off her win at Thursday’s Havre Invite, Fee again paced the field with a round of 85 at East Glacier to finish first for the second straight tourney.

Overall, the Havre girls finished fourth with a team score of 438. Jocelyn Staples shot a 111 for the ponies, while Kinzee Peterson shot 117 and freshman Sophie Kirkpatrick finished at 125.

Havre’s busy start to the 2018 golf season continues with today’s Belgrade Invitational in Bozeman.
