Havre man dies in ATV crash

Officials have released the name of a Havre man who died as the result of injuries sustained in an ATV crash Saturday morning at Fresno Reservoir.

Hill County Sheriff and Coroner Jamie Ross said this morning that the victim was Jonnie Ray Holden of Havre, 52.

Montana Highway Patrol reports that Holden was driving a Polaris Razor ATV on Kremlin Bay Road trying to find a jet ski that had floated away on Fresno Reservoir. At 12:02 Saturday morning Holden, who was not wearing a seat belt, failed to notice a steep drop off, drove off the bank and was ejected.

Holden was declared dead at the scene, Highway Patrol reports.

Highway Patrol reports alcohol, speed and not wearing a seat belt appear to be factors in the crash.
