Outdoors: Locals shine at 124th State Trap Shoot

Havre has a strong tradition of trap shooting, and last month in Great Falls, it was on full display.

A number of locals had big success at the 124th Montana State Trap Shoot, held at the Great Falls Trap Club in July.

Emi Smith had an incredible state shoot, winning the Montana State High All-Around Lady 1 Champion, as well as the Montana State Lady 1 Handicap Champion after winning the Lady 1 Preliminary Handicap Champion. Smith also won the 18-21.5 Yard Handicap, completing an awesome event for her.

Other local winners at the state trap shoot included, Bret Preeshl, who won the Class A Singles, getting 100 out of 100, as well as Jim Bachini who won the Class D Singles. Matt Fochs got 100 out of 100 in the Class B Singles, while also winning the Montana State Class B Doubles Champion. Fochs was also the Montana State High Overall Class B Champion. Preeshl captured the 25-27 Yard Preliminary Handicap Champion while Zach Bachini won the 18-21 Yard Preliminary Handicap Champion.
