Havre Salvation Army is launching our annual back-to-school campaign. The Army will be joining with the community Back to School Bash. Salvation Army is taking donations of both money and school supplies.
The supplies that are needed are:
• 4 oz and 8 oz white school glue
• Glue sticks
• Highlighters three-pack
• Colored pencils
• Crayon 24 ct
• Markers - Washable cone-tip
• Markers - washable small
• Watercolors
• Wide-ruled paper loose packages
• One-subject wide-ruled notebooks
• College-ruled paper, loose packages
• One-subject college-ruled notebooks
• Thee-ring binders 1-inch and 1-1/2 inch
• Two-pocket folders (six different colors)
• Eraser caps
• Erasers-pink
• #2 pencils
• Blunt scissors
• Pointed student scissors
• Protractors
• 17-inch and 18-inch backpacks
• Boxes of tissue
• Antibacterial wipes/small hand sanitizer
• Large plastic pencil box
• Composition notebooks
People who would like to donate can bring donations to Salvation Army Social Service Office or Sally Ann's Thrift store.
Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods is also offering school supply kits can be purchased at the store July 23 through Aug. 17. The kits will be given to kids in need of supplies. Boxes where supplies can be dropped off will be set up at Sally Ann's Thrift Store and The Salvation Army emergency service office.
This campaign is available for low-income families or students in need with students attending Havre schools K-8 grades. The supplies are needed by Aug. 17. Each student will receive a backpack and basic school supplies.
This a first-come, first-served opportunity at Pepin Park, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18. Lunch will be served and games and other activities held at the event. Documentation needed at the appointment includes a picture ID of adult filling out the application, Social Security cards or birth certificates for all family members, proof of residency and proof of income. Having the student' teacher's name is helpful.
