Jaycees Demo Derby is a smashing good time again

The loud roaring of engines and the particles of dirt flying at the Great Northern Fairgrounds Saturday night could mean only one thing - the Demolition Derby.

The annual competition, which is always a fan favorite at the Great Northern Fair took place along with the bump-and-run, which included a total of 21 cars from across the state of Montana according to organizer Shelby Gooch. Dustin McKinney of Great Falls was the stock main winner and the modified main winner was Trent Hess of Lewistown.

The Demolition Derby saw a number of familiar faces do well and one of those was Skylar Powell, who took home the top prize. He was followed by Garrett Powell in second and Johnny Austin in third. Rounding out the top five in the competition was Jestin Brown and Eric Tadej.

Skylar Powell, Austin and Brown all reside in Havre, while Garrett Powell is from Chinook and Tadej is from Fort Benton.
