Hello, God. It's me, Mara

World of wonders

You know, Lord, summer is in the air! There’s no doubt that nearly everyone we know feels like it’s a wonderful time to take some time off, be it just to relax or recharge. We know some dear friends who are doing just that! They have some great ideas to see parks, lakes, family, or just travel around a bit. Other friends don’t feel like buzzing around, but they also know how refreshing it is to take a bit of ‘time’ off just to set aside a few minutes each day to do something that they love to do, be it weeding, quilting, canning, or just to sit back, listen to music or even play some music or better yet, just to be still and enjoy a few quiet moments enjoying Your creation, Lord.

We know, Lord, that You can do anything and that no one can stop You. We probably just ramble on and talk about things that we actually know very little about because all of the things You have made are far too wonderful for us. We’ve seen sunlight sparkle like lightning across the waters. Do we know how a hawk soars and spreads her wings and flies off to the South? Did we even think about that?

Friends and neighbors, long ago, had horses, but did we ever even think about the strength of a horse and how his neck is clothed with a quivering mane? We’ve read how horses fiercely paw the ground and appear to rejoice to the captain/masters’ commands. You, Lord, have fearfully and wonderfully made us to dwell in this World of Wonders to enjoy all the things that You have made.

Your Word tells us in Psalm 139:14 about the World of Wonders: “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Love, Mara
