The home of David and Cheree Bekker at 1431 12th St. was chosen by Bullhook Blossoms Garden Club as the second Featured Yard of Summer. The simplicity of this well-groomed yard invites the viewer to take in the details that add to its beauty.

Flanking the front porch are pots of colorful petunias. Hanging from the porch are pale colored hanging geraniums and trailing vinca vines. Smooth river rock follows the contour of the house to the west, coming to a corner with an unexpected  whimsical bed of bamboo shoots. Continuing around the side of the house one finds pretty shrubs of yellow potentilla.

Carrying out the color scheme in front are bright yellow daisies.  On each side of the front lawn are two trees and shrubs of perennials also bedded in attractive river rock. Notice the trunks of two of the ornamental trees which give the couple's two young sons opportunities for safe climbing.

Cheree says David works hard on the yard and they were very pleased to be chosen as a Featured Yard of Summer.  Drive by 1431 12th St. to see a small yard made beautiful by tender loving care.
