The weather isn't the only thing heating up right now. So is the season for the Havre Northstars American Legion baseball club.
Now into July, the Northstars are in the thick of Northern District play, and time is ticking away until the district tournament rolls around later this month in Conrad.
And Havre will look to take advantage of its four home games it has left, including a doubleheader against the Lewistown Redbirds Sunday at Legion Field.
The Northstars return home from a trip to Fort MacLeod earlier this week, where they split with the Royals. Havre dropped a heartbreaking 12-11 game in Fort MacLeod, but rebounded to take the nightcap from the Royals 12-2. The win was Havre's fourth in its last six conference games.
Now, Havre will look to keep that momentum going with four of its last six games of the regular season coming at home. Not only do the Northstars host Lewistown Sunday, but they're also home July 15 to take on Vauxhall. Havre wraps up the regular season July 18 in Lethbridge.
Sunday's games between the Northstars and Redbirds begin at 3 p.m. at Legion Field.
