Havre stars set to host 12U state tournament

It's been a busy summer in terms of local baseball. But it's not done yet and this weekend, the action ramps up again as Havre is playing host to the 12U East State Tournament.

The 12U tournament will open Friday in Havre as the nine teams in attendance will take part in pool play. Havre, which is part of Pool A, will open with Belgrade Friday at 10:30 a.m. Havre will also play Glasgow Friday at 3:30 p.m. The tournament will be played at the Havre Softball complex and the first pitch Friday will go out at 8 a.m. The championship game will be played Sunday at 2 p.m.

The first day of the tournament will include pool play for all nine teams and each team will play twice in order to determine seeding for the single-elimination tournament Saturday and Sunday. Havre's pool includes Glasgow and Belgrade, while Pool B features Lewistown, Bozeman and Big Muddy. Pool C also has three teams: Glendive, Miles City and Gallatin Valley.

The team from Havre will be lead by head coach Jake Eldridge. He will be assisted by Oscar Delarosa and Ben Mader. The roster of players includes Tanner Delarosa, Aden Habeger, Matt Huse, Jevin Jenkins, Brayden Kimberling, Bodhy Lassle, Chason Mader, Trigg Mapes, Brody Nanini, Ezra Pyle, Terek Shipp and Colter Solomon.

Havre will open the 12U state tournament Friday at 10:30 a.m. The championship game is Sunday at 2 p.m.
