The Jaycees continue decades-old fireworks display

Fireworks stand pays for annual Fourth of July fireworks display

The Havre Jaycees will spark up the night with its annual fireworks display, Wednesday, July 4.

With many firework stands popping up around town the Jaycees set up their stand Monday. They are selling "a little bit of everything," this year, said T.J. Daulton, head of the committee for the fireworks booth.

The fireworks booth has been open since Monday, June 25, Daulton said, adding that they have a wide range of fireworks this year for sale, from novelty items and family packs to 2 inch shells.

The booth has been open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m and starting today the stand will be open from noon till midnight.

Chapter President Kyle Gooch said that the fireworks stand is doing very well this year. Gooch added that the booth is currently selling a pack called the "Mammoth" which is a new item and the largest that you can buy at the booth; in addition to that pack there are many other new items for sale as well as some of the old favorites that are still available.

Daulton said they made around $8,000 last year and he is very excited for the demonstration Wednesday.

The fireworks display each year is paid for by the sales from the Jaycees booth the previous year.

The fireworks display will begin around 10 p.m, as soon as it is dark, Daulton said.

The fireworks will be set off this year at the Great Northern Fairgrounds and the community will be able to watch the display at many different locations around town.
