The live summer music in Havre starts this week, with Kicks@6 starting Tuesday in Pepin Park and Sounds on the Square at the Town Square Wednesday.
Kicks@6 with Sax Cadillac and the Other Brothers and Sistas, organized by Havre musician Kirt Miller, runs every Tuesday at 6 p.m. through Aug. 21 with a different theme each week.
This week, the theme is "America the Beautiful," a we love the USA show.
June 19 features Creedence Cleerwater Revival in the "Born on the Bayou" show.
June 26 is themed "Sweet Home Alabama" in a tribute to Southern Rock.
The theme for July 10 is "All Shook Up" in a tribute to Elvis Presley.
July 17 has a new theme for the summer series, "Summer of Love," a tribute to the music of the late 1960s.
Blues is the theme for the July 17 show, in "Bad Dad Daddy-Os."
July 31 has a tribute to the Eagles in "Already Gone."
"I Want My MTV" features songs of the 1970s and '80s Aug. 7.
Aug. 14 features salsa and Latin music with "La Bamba."
The summer series wraps up Aug 21 with "Surf's Up," songs of the Beach Boys and other '60s hits.
People are advised that they might want to bring some chairs to the shows.
Donations to the nonprofit Kicks@6 are welcomed, organizers said, with proceeds going to children with special needs in music.
The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce's Sounds on the Square, sponsored by NorthWestern Energy with additional funding by Triangle Communications, opens Wednesday with Havre band Blind Luck.
The shows run from 6 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 16.
The performer June 20 is Latigo, followed by Tales from Ghost Town June 27.
No music will be performed on Independence Day, July 4.
The concerts pick back up July 11 with Plowed Under Band, followed by ROC Band July 18.
Milk River Band follows on July 18 with Dane MacRae & Friends performing Aug. 1, You Knew Me When Aug. 8 and the series wraps up Aug. 15 with Shovels and Shotguns.
