Public invited to see Hi-Line projects firsthand

MISSOULA — The Montana Department of Transportation Great Falls District US-2 has announced a free opportunity for the public to join an infrastructure tour from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 20.
The tour will include stops at Havre East, Lohman, Chinook, Zurich, Belknap, and the Milk River Bridge as an opportunity to learn firsthand of current projects enhancing Montana communities.
Staff from the Montana Department of Transportation and Transportation Commissioners, including Great Falls District Transportation Commissioner Greg Jergeson of Chinook will lead the tour through these areas and welcome the opportunity to speak with residents between stops while all commuting together on a chartered bus.
Stops highlighting projects include:
• 11 a.m. – Meet at the Havre MDT maintenance office at 1649 US HWY 2 NW
• 11:15 a.m. – Depart from Havre
• 11:30 a.m. – Stop at the old rest area site to discuss the Havre East reconstruction project
• Noon – Depart from the old rest area site
• 12:15 p.m. – Stop at Lohman to discuss the Lohman East & West project
• Lunch break (not provided by tour)
• 1 p.m. – Depart from Lohman
• 1:10 p.m. – Stop at the Town Pump in Chinook for a 15-minute break
• 1:30 p.m. – Depart from Chinook
• 1:45 p.m. – Stop in Zurich to discuss the US-2 corridor projects between Chinook and Harlem
• 2:15 p.m. – Depart from Zurich
• 2:30 p.m. – Arrive in Harlem for a 15-minute break
• 3 p.m. – Depart from Harlem to tour P-66 south of Ft Belknap
• 3:45 p.m. – Arrive back in Harlem
• 4:15 p.m. – Arrive at the Milk River Bridge project south of US-2 on the North Fork Road
• 5 p.m. – Depart from the Milk River Bridge project
• 5:30 p.m. – Arrive at the Havre MDT Maintenance office
Because seating is limited, the Montana Department of Transportation requests that those interested in attending call the Transportation Commission Tour logistics line at 406-207-4484 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, June 11, and only during this time. Limited seating is available and is reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
People interested in attending are encouraged to mark calendars for June 11 to RSVP. Tour reservations will only be taken during this eight-hour time June 11. People can call 406-207-4484 to reserve your seat.
