This summer Havre area children will have the opportunity to have free breakfasts and lunches at two local schools.
June 11 to Aug. 3, kids 18 years old and younger can eat no-cost meals at Lincoln-McKinley Primary School and Highland Park School Early Primary Monday through Friday.
This is the sixth year this program will be held, and breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 10:59 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children must be in the door before 1 p.m. to be served.
Parents are also encouraged to join their children for these meals. Prices are $3 for breakfast and $4 for lunch for adults.
Adults are more than welcome to join, but kids can also come in by themselves, Food Service Worker Carol Wolf said.
The breakfast menu includes:
Mondays: Sausage wrapped in a pancake
Tuesdays: French toast
Wednesdays: Sausage egg muffins
Thursdays: Pancakes
Fridays: Cereal
The lunch menu varies from day to day but includes dishes like cheeseburgers, chickenwiches, spaghetti, sandwiches, corn dogs, hot dogs, tacos, soup, pizza, and chicken nuggets.
Each meal, both breakfast and lunch, also includes fruit and milk.
“We don’t need names or numbers,” Wolf said. “Just bring on in your kids; we are ready.”
