Amanda Lea Oehmcke, 28, passed away at Kalispell Regional Medical Center May 25, 2018.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Chinook, MT.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted with Edwards Funeral Homes.
Amanda was born on March 18, 1990 in Havre, MT, to Bill and Wendy Oehmcke. Amanda attended Meadowlark Elementary and graduated from Chinook High School in 2008. During that time she was in National Honor Society and, like her grandpa Ralph, served as the president of FFA 2 years in a row.
After five years of hard work, including an internship at Billings Clinic Hospital, she graduated from Montana State University in 2013 with a bachelor's in microbiology. From there she moved to Rapid City, SD, to work as a medical technician at United Blood Services.
After three years in Rapid City she spent a year in Denver, CO, finally settling in Kalispell, MT, where she worked at Glacier Bank. Amanda enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephew and was close with her family. Her hobbies included reading, listening to music, road trips, exploring, hiking, and yoga. She had a knack for remembering little details like county numbers on the license plates. She was a very generous, kind, and caring woman. Her final act of generosity was as an organ donor.
Amanda is survived by her parents Bill and Wendy Oehmcke of Chinook, sisters Naomi (John) Reynolds of Fort Wayne, IN, and Christina Oehmcke of Kalispell, and two nieces and a nephew.
Amanda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde and Bonnie Smith and Ralph Oehmcke.
In lieu of flowers Amanda would encourage everyone to donate blood. Memorial Donations also can be made to KRH Foundation – A.L.E.R.T. at 310 Sunny View Lane Kalispell, MT 59901, or to the memorial of your choice.
