Assistance for Business Clinic set in Havre June 6

Businesses looking for guidance about resources to improve their operations can attend the upcoming Assistance for Business Clinic co-sponsored by Havre Area Chamber of Commerce and the Montana Department of Labor and Industry Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Montana State University-Northern’s Hensler Auditorium in the Applied Technology Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Assistance for Business Clinics provides new and established employers, accountants, bookkeepers, human resources professionals and attorneys the opportunity to meet with state workforce development experts to learn about state and local resources available to businesses, including:

• Montana Minimum Wage;

• Unemployment Insurance;

• Workers’ Compensation Law;

• Using Independent and Construction Contractors;

• Overtime Regulations;

• Labor Law Posters;

• Using Labor Market Data;

• Montana Registered Apprenticeship; and

• Job Service Montana

“The State of Montana offers a variety of resources and tools for employers to grasp a better understanding of their requirements and opportunities,” said Labor and Industry Commissioner Galen Hollenbaugh. “We’re excited to work with our partners across the state to provide this information to Montana’s workforce.”

The clinic also provides continuing education credits for attendees.

“Continuing education is one of the primary reasons that attendees come to these clinics,” said Department of Labor and Industry Business Manager Kay Strayer. “Professional education makes Montana’s economy stronger across the state through updated information and knowledge to grow businesses.”
