Set Free reaches out with Day in the Park

Set Free Ministries will be holding their third annual Christian Fellowship Day in the Park Saturday where the ministry hopes to enjoy an outreach with the Havre community.

Day in the Park will be held at Pepin Park from noon to 3:30 p.m., and will include a barbecue and family-fun activities like music, games and prizes, a bicycle giveaway, bouncy houses, and snacks.

Set Free Ministries Havre Pastor A.J. Jensen said everyone is invited to this event.

“This is a community event to show the love of Jesus,” Jensen added.

He said the headliner at the event will be a performance by the Kid’s Klub from Set Free Ministries Great Falls.

The games will be carnival-type games, he said, and 22 bicycles have been donated for the bicycle giveaway.

Snacks being served include cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn. Jensen added that the hamburgers and hot dogs at the barbecue are going “to be the best in town.”

Set Free Ministries, located on Second Street near Gary & Leo’s Fresh Foods, is an outreach church that ministers to people who may not usually be reached by a church, Jensen said.

“We want to touch whoever we can,” he added.

Set Free Ministries is a donation and offer-based ministry, Jensen said, and everything that comes in stays local.

Set Free is also the ministry that provides a Sunday meal when Feed My Sheep Community Soup Kitchen is closed.

Jensen added that a lot of donations and hard work go into Day in the Park and he hopes all community members feel free to come down with their families and enjoy the outreach.
