Obituary - Delbert J. Schnitzmeier

Delbert J. Schnitzmeier died peacefully at the Missouri River Care Center May 13 in Great Falls, MT, at the age of 87.

Delbert is survived by his sister Leona Beatty of Havre, brother Gerald of Great Falls, daughters Patty Matsko of St. George, UT, Peggy Beck of Superior, MT, Debbie Smith of Hurricane, UT, and sons John of Forsyth, MT, Carl of St Marie’s, ID, Russ of Great Falls and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Schnitzmeier of Havre, MT, and daughter Polly Russell of Idaho Falls, ID.

Delbert was born in March 1931 in Havre. He graduated from Havre High School and farmed in Havre, Great Falls, Denton and Chester. He loved flying and carried a private and commercial pilot’s license as well as ratings for instrumentation and multiengine aircraft. Dad’s work ethic, sense of humor and dedication to God will be fondly remembered.

A ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday the 18th of May at the Highland Cemetery, with Ila McLenahan officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Delbert’s life.
