Cody Welsh, Turner Track

Track and field in Turner has become a bigtime sport. And Turner senior Cody Welsh had a bigtime day on the track. During last Wednesday's District 9C track meet in Havre, Welsh captured three individual titles. He won the 110-and 300-meter hurdles, as well as the high jump. Welsh' performance in Havre helped the Tornadoes to a third-place finish with 88 points, while he advanced to the Northern C Divisional later this week. Welsh also earned District 9C All-Conference honors this winter in basketball.

Marcee Murphy/Devyn Solomon, Havre High Tennis

The Havre High tennis teams closed out their regular season with last Saturday's Lewistown Invitational. And the tandem of Marcee Murphy and Devyn Solomon certainly will go into the postseason on a high note. The doubles duo went a sparkling 4-1 in Lewistown last Saturday, beating teams from Belgrade, Dillon, Lewistown and Hardin. Murphy and Solomon are in their junior season of tennis and their second season of playing doubles together.
