From Milk River Joint Board of Control
Releases from Fresno Reservoir have been decreasing over the past few weeks following the heavy runoff in April to conserve storage for the upcoming irrigation season.
Releases from Fresno Reservoir were to be shut off Monday at 2 p.m. through 8 a.m. Wednesday to lower flows downstream on the Milk River to provide an opportunity for irrigation districts to prepare their diversion dams for irrigation season.
Following the shutoff, releases will be gradually increased to match inflow, which is estimated at 550 cubic feet per second. Fresno Reservoir is a primary storage facility for irrigation and municipal use for the Milk River Project.
