A man who brought his worldwide ministry to Havre two years ago is bringing another world-traveling evangelist to Havre tonight through the weekend, including a stop on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation Sunday.
Gary J. Hicks of Havre said Abner Suarez, who has been evangelizing around the world for the last 20 years, will be at Abuntant Life Ministries tonight through Sunday, and at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Living Waters Church on Rocky Boy.
Hicks, who also travels the world with his ministry, said he has had connections with Havre for more than 10 years. While he was living in Saskatchewan, he came here every year to do contracting work, he said.
Then, two years ago in July, Hicks and his wife, Tania, moved their family to Havre and he has been focusing on his ministry. He said he travels the world, including three times to Britain and will be back there again this year, and also was the director of a Bible college in Tennessee for 10 years.
He said that has allowed him to make many connections with ministries that he will be bringing here, with Suarez the first in a series of planned appearances.
“We want to impact the Hi-Line,” Hicks said. “… We will try to get relationships and share things applicable with the community.”
He is a member of the Abundant Life Ministries, and is working with Pastor Brian Barrows to bring the speakers here, he said.
Saurez is the head of For Such a Time as This Inc. and has been traveling the world evangelizing for more than 20 years, ever since he had a life-changing experience while a college freshman, his website says.
His ministry travels the country and the world, with his schedule this year including trips to Romania and Moldavia in July, Iceland in September and Tanzania in November and December.
His stops in Havre this week include 7 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday at Abundant Life Ministries at 405 Sixth St., 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Abundant Life and his 6:30 appearance at Rocky Boy at Living Waters Church.
