Military News - Simonson gradautes from basic training

Pfc. Emily Simonson graduated April 19 from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Simonson underwent 10 weeks of learning the military lifestyle and graduated as a sharpshooter with an M4. From here, she will go on to Fort Mead, Maryland, for her advanced individual training. There she will do another 10 weeks to become a public affairs specialist.

Simonson will be home mid-July in time for the birthday of her little brother, Cory.

Simonson graduated from Havre High School in 2016 and went on to University of Montana to major in English. She will return to UM as a junior this fall.
